The following objectives are quoted directly from the Center’s foundation document. They are the formal statement of what this organisation exists to do, including the conditions attached to that work — that it is undertaken in the public interest, subject to the approval of the competent authority, and on a non-profit basis.
“To promote and undertake scientific research in the fields of molecular biology, biotechnology, diagnostics, and public health, including translational and clinical research, for the advancement of knowledge and improvement of healthcare outcomes in the public interest, subject to the approval of the competent authority.”
“To establish, operate, and maintain research laboratories and facilities, and to develop, test, and validate biotechnological products, biomaterials, and diagnostic systems, with a focus on innovation, affordability, and accessibility, subject to the approval of the competent authority.”
“To collaborate and engage with academic institutions, healthcare providers, and research organisations, both within Pakistan and internationally, and to disseminate research findings in accordance with applicable ethical standards and regulatory requirements, on a non-profit basis.”
