Diagnostic Services

Clinical and molecular diagnostic testing supporting clinicians in reaching an accurate diagnosis.

Our purpose

A result that a clinician can act on

A diagnostic service exists to reduce a clinician's uncertainty. That places two obligations on us: the measurement must be correct, and the report must be clear about what the measurement does and does not establish.

The second obligation is easy to neglect. A number without its method, reference range or known limitations invites over-interpretation, and an over-interpreted result can be more harmful than no result at all. Our reports state the method, the range applied, and any factor that could affect interpretation.

Capabilities

Types of diagnostic testing

Molecular diagnostics

Nucleic-acid based detection and characterisation methods for infectious and genetic conditions.

Clinical chemistry

Quantitative measurement of clinically relevant analytes in patient samples.

Immunoassays

Antibody-based detection and quantification methods.

Microbiology

Identification and characterisation of microorganisms of clinical significance.

Confirmatory testing

Second-line testing to confirm or resolve equivocal results from other laboratories.

Clinical interpretation

Reports written to support interpretation, with the limitations of the method stated.
For referring clinicians

What you can expect from us

  • Documented, validated methods with recorded quality control
  • Clearly stated sample requirements before you collect
  • Reports stating the method and reference range applied
  • Explicit flagging of results affected by sample condition
  • Confidential handling of patient data
  • A named route for querying or discussing a result
  • Referral into subsidised testing where a patient needs it
  • Notification when a method or reference range changes

Available diagnostic tests will be listed here

The full diagnostic menu, with sample requirements, turnaround times, methods and pricing, will be published here once services are commissioned. Because clinical decisions depend on these details, we will publish them only when confirmed.

Refer a patient or discuss a case

We welcome enquiries from clinicians about testing, referral pathways and subsidised access for patients who need it.
