Screening without follow-up is not a health programme
It is possible to run a screening camp, test a large number of people, publish an impressive total, and improve nobody's health. That happens whenever screening is not connected to diagnosis and care — participants learn they may have a condition, and are then left to navigate a system that was already out of reach.
We treat the follow-up pathway as the part that must be designed first. A programme is only offered where a positive result leads somewhere: confirmatory testing at subsidised rates, referral to a partner clinic, and a named route for people who do not attend.
How a community health programme is built

Assess the need
Establish what conditions matter locally and what provision already exists, with local providers.

Build the pathway
Agree in advance where positive results go, who is responsible, and how care is paid for.

Deliver
Screening, sample collection and health education delivered in the community.

Follow up
Results returned, referrals made, attendance tracked, and non-attenders followed up.
