Findings are only useful once they are shared
Peer-reviewed papers, policy briefs, reports, books and an open-access journal — the routes by which our work reaches researchers, clinicians and decision-makers.
Our founding objectives commit us to disseminate research findings in accordance with applicable ethical standards and regulatory requirements, on a non-profit basis. Publication is therefore an obligation of the work rather than a reward for completing it.
Different audiences need different formats. A methods paper serves other researchers; a policy brief serves someone deciding where to allocate a health budget; a plain-language article serves the public. We treat all three as legitimate scientific outputs, because a finding that never reaches the person able to act on it has not improved any healthcare outcome.
