Transparency & accountability
A donation is a transfer of trust before it is a transfer of money. This page sets out what the Center undertakes in return, and what it has not yet been able to publish.
What we undertake
These apply to every gift, of any size, from any source.
- Funds are applied to the purpose for which they were given
- Restricted donations are used only for the specified purpose
- The Center operates on a non-profit basis
- Donors receive acknowledgement of their donation
- Financial reporting is published
- Donor details are never sold or shared
- Anonymity is respected where requested
- We decline donations that would compromise scientific independence

Tax treatment of donations
The tax treatment of donations to the Center has not yet been confirmed. We will publish it here rather than describe it informally.
The figures on this site are illustrative
Every fundraising total, target and account number currently shown across the site is a placeholder for design purposes. Real figures are published only once they have been reconciled, and real payment details only once they have been verified against the bank. Until then each figure is labelled on the page where it appears.
Financial reporting will be published here
Annual reports and financial statements will be published on this page and under Publications once prepared. We would rather say that plainly than describe reporting we have not yet produced.
A note on donation fraud
Please treat any message claiming to collect donations on our behalf with caution, and verify it with us directly before transferring money. We publish our verified payment details on this page and nowhere else.
