Community Outreach Services
Screening and testing delivered in communities, so that distance is not the reason a condition goes undiagnosed.
Taking the laboratory to the patient
For someone several hours from the nearest laboratory, the cost of a test includes the journey, a day of lost earnings, and often a second journey for the result. That total frequently exceeds the value of the test itself, and the rational decision becomes not to go.
Community outreach services address that by bringing screening and sample collection into the community. Samples are collected on site under proper handling conditions and returned to the laboratory for analysis, with results routed back through the referring programme. Screening is only offered where there is a route to follow-up — identifying a condition without a path to care produces anxiety, not health.

Our wider community programmes
Field testing sits within a broader outreach programme covering health education, awareness campaigns and work with public sector health services.
Outreach schedules and locations will be published here
Planned outreach activities, the screening offered at each, and how communities and organisations can request a visit will be published here as the programme is scheduled.
Bring outreach to your community
We welcome approaches from community organisations, clinics and local authorities interested in hosting an outreach activity.
