MSL-CHIB undertakes and supports laboratory, translational, and public health research, including clinical research where the appropriate ethical and regulatory approvals are in place. Our work focuses on developing innovative biotechnological products, biomaterials, diagnostic approaches, and research solutions relevant to local and global health challenges.

Bridging Research, Biotechnology and Healthcare Needs in Pakistan
Pakistan possesses considerable scientific talent and a pressing need for locally relevant health innovations. However, the translation of research into practical applications is often constrained by limited research infrastructure and funding, insufficient integration between academia, healthcare, and industry, and significant reliance on imported biotechnological products, biomaterials, and diagnostic technologies. Consequently, promising scientific discoveries may remain confined to laboratories and publications instead of progressing into validated, affordable, and accessible healthcare solutions.
